Well written. Ambrose Lincoln is a tower of strength as he struggles to distinguish fiction from reality.
No memories, no remorse, no past. Who are the good guys? It a who done it with all grantor's. Spies and more spies. And in the end the hero disappears. No one gets the girl.

From the very first lines this book built a sense of dread of the unknown that left me wanting to read the book in one sitting. Despite the serious nature of the story, the writing is hauntingly beautiful, like the phrase "Darkness was descending on the valley as quietly as the last breath of a dying man." The action picks up, plenty to keep me on the edge of my seat, but there are softer moments too--Lincoln and the waitress, and those memories that stir in the back of his mind he just can't reach. Despite his grisly task and his race against time, the reader can really connect with Ambrose Lincoln and root for him to the finish line. Definitely a must read for those who like conspiracies.
Caleb Pirtle III is a master storyteller. His writing is at times sparse, yet it provides just enough detail to give the reader's imagination room to create multi-layered locations and characters. CONSPIRACY OF LIES is set against the backdrop of the race to split the atom, a race that the most powerful nations on earth desperately intend to win, no matter the cost.
The bomb's secrets are slipping from the most secret of locations, and Ambrose Lincoln's anonymous masters have given him only a name in the hope that he can plug the hole. A man who craves some semblance of a normal life yet knows he can never have one, Ambrose Lincoln is a compelling character who continues to occupy a spot in my heart and my head. A man with no past, he is an honorable, gentlemanly killing machine. I can't wait to read the next novel in the series.
Highly recommended for anyone with an interest in history, mysteries, or excellent writing.
As I expect, Caleb caught my attention from the first sentence and held it to the very end. Finding himself in both Santa Fe and Los Alamos, Lincoln Ambrose weaves his way into and through the mess he's been sent there to fix. Along the way, he reveals an unusual trait. He falls in love. Is she his wife or isn't she. Of course, he cannot remember. She possesses an unusual ability to avoid death under circumstances others certainly would expire from immediately. Will she appear in future Ambrose Lincoln novels or will be be gone? Has he finally escaped his tormentors or do they know exactly where he is? Only Lincoln knows and he'll tell Caleb when the time is right. Brilliantly written and totally compelling.
